Post Corner balancing question
Last fall at a HPDE my instructor said my Celica was diving in the right front under hard braking and suggested I look into a shock problem or a corner weighting problem. This after noon when changing from winter to summer tires I checked the spring perches and the right front was 5/8" higher than the left front. Could this have been causing the problem? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.Bob

If memory serves me correct, having one side higher than the other might over exaggerate the condition...maybe. 5/8 I would think might be hard to see or feel without a possible shock issue allowing some faster weight transfer to that corner.

It would depend on what the car says when you get on the scales. Having different spring perch heights is standard procedure when corner weighting, IIRC. They all won't be the same distance from the bottom/top of the threads. For example, if your battery sits in the front of your engine bay on the right side, the RF will be compressed more when static than the left side and the ride height/corner weight will be affected. So you would spin that perch up to compensate. That's what I've observed, anyway.

Eyeballing or measuring the ride height can give you a general idea of where you're at with the corner weights.
